The Earthspurs are the highest mountains in this part of the world, noted for their steep slopes, sharply-defined crags and deep valleys. With individual peaks reaching over 27,000 feet in height, they present an imposing barrier between the lands of the Dales and the Moonsea and those of the East, forcing most trade south via the Sea of Fallen Stars. The climate is frequently wet and cold, although the brief summer gets very warm. Draped across the centre of the range is the Glacier of the White Worm, named for the pale breed of remorhaz that makes its home here. Somewhere in the valleys on the edge of the glacier lies the famous Monastery of the Yellow Rose. There are many mining communities lurking in the valleys extracting their mineral wealth for distribution across the Inner Sea, with major exports including iron, silver and, of course, bloodstone. Dark cave systems beneath the mountains shelter hordes of goblins, stone giants and other monsters and there are persistent rumours of a Drow city in the roots of the range.
