Torm the True, also known as the “Loyal Fury”, is the God of Duty and Righteous War and Patron of Paladins. A former mortal, raised to godhood by his patron Tyr, he is worshipped by paladins and soldiers dedicated to protecting the defenceless; he serves as a patron and example for all paladins, regardless of which god they are actually dedicated to. Like his allies, he resides in the House of the Triad.
Torm’s followering is small, but highly organised. Outside of the Bloodstone Lands, his strongest following is in Tantras on the shores of the Sea of Fallen Stars, where his avatar resided and sacrificed himself to defeat that of Bane in personal combat during the recent Time of Troubles. His church is still dealing with the consequences of that period, when the Loyal Fury discovered the corruption within the local temple hierarchy: he subsequently imposed the “Penalty of Duty” on his worshippers, requiring them to defend the followers of all other non-Evil gods. In Damara and Impiltur, Torm is part of the Triad, serving as the war-leader of the unified churches’ armies and defender of the people.
Torm is depicted as a stern warrior in plain full-plate armour, riding a huge golden dragon. His symbol is a steel gauntlet, pointing upwards, palm outwards.
