The Beaumaris drains into Damara through a broad, flat valley. Clearly bounded by high cliffs, the North Wall and the South Wall, Bloodstone Pass runs from west to east, connecting the lands of Vaasa and Damara. The land is primarily alpine meadow and the population farm rothé and cattle, supplemented with fish from the apparently bottomless Lake Midai. The cliffs contain numerous openings into extensive tunnel systems under the Galenas, and the valley floor has a number of sinkholes and other entryways into the same networks. Many of these entryways form the focus of mining activity, but constant vigilance is required by the miners and the populace at large to prevent monsters using them to access the surface world.
The Pass contains a number of communities, comprising the Barony of Bloodstone. The seat of the Baron lies at Bloodstone Village, a community of around 5000 on the northern shore of Lake Midai. The Baron and his household reside in a picturesque watchtower on the South Wall overlooking the Lake, a sophisticated dwarven-designed cable car system provides communication with the town itself. To the east of the Village, tucked in to the foot of the South Wall, is the quiet farming community of Windless, population 2,500. At the opposite end of the valley is the mining town of Virdin, population 1,500.
The Vaasan and Damaran Gates are half-built fortifications across the ends of the valley. While the Damaran Gate is purely military, the Vaasan Gate houses a growing community catering to the adventuring parties which the Baron hopes will pacify Vaasa.
